Francesc Núñez Mosteo

 

Biography:

Francesc Núñez Mosteo (fnunez@uoc.edu) is a professor at the Art and Humanities Department of the UOC. He is currently director of the Master of Humanities: art, literature and contemporary culture and focuses his research in the field of the sociology of emotions..

He studied Philosophy at the University of Barcelona and Sociology at the UAB. He focused on the sociology of knowledge and religion and received his doctorate with a thesis on secularized priests around the 70s (it was published in 2005 by Editorial Mediterrània with the title Les plegades, Sacerdots secularitzats. He has published many articles about the topic.

Since 2000 he has participated in (and directed) research related to online sociability and the “domestication” (uses and adoptions) of digital technologies, and how they intervene in relationships. On these subjects he has published several book chapters and articles.

He is currently involved in a project (financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) entitled: Gender and post-genres: mapping meanings (for social transformation).

During 2018, I participated in the production of more than 80 articles in the Spanish written and virtual press (La Vanguardia, El PAÍS, ABC, El mundo, ARA, El Nacional.cat, etc.), I participated in more than 20 radio programs (Cadena Ser, COPE, ONDA CERO, Cadena 100, CatRadio, RAC 1, etc.) and in more than 15 television programs (RTVE1, RTVE2, TV3, 3/24, Telecinco, etc.).
